Angell Hall
I decided to take pictures at the Angell Hall because the building has a very complex and intriguing structure. I found many different angles to take my photos from here and it was difficult to pick two because they all looked great. In the image on the left I took a close up image from a slightly right facing angle. The looking up angles are very nice to look at but I wanted to include more of the building in the image. Due to the size of the building, I had to run back and fourth a lot when taking the image from different angles. I think that both of these images convey power and optimism because of the drama and contrast between the clouds and building.
Rackham School of Graduate Studies
I took photos of this building because I have been in this area a lot and I already knew some angles that I thought would look nice. For my blueprint edit, I decided to use the straight on angle image because I thought there would be more lines and the blueprint effect would look nicer. For my regular edit, I took a photo from a close up and facing left angle. I thought this was one of the best photos that I took at this location because there was a really nice contrast between the clouds and the building while the lighting looked nice. I think these images convey curiosity because in the blueprint image if you do not know Ann Arbor well, it is not obvious what the building is.
Law Library
I decided to take images of the law library on campus because the building has many architecture elements that are beautiful and interesting. The shape of the building is very unique, which helped me get many angles that looks very different from the others. I used the straight on angle for my blueprint edit so that more lines would show up in the edit. The lighting paired with the building made my photos look nice and I am glad I chose this timing of day. I think the images conveys interest and could be inspiring to others.
Kelsey Museum of Archaeology
I took photos of this building because of the architecture. The stone bricks that the building is made out of really drew me to it because I knew it would look nice on camera. The only struggle that I had taking these images was figuring out where to stand so that no people or big trees appeared in my photos. I used a corner angle for my regular edit because I thought the sky would end up looking nice against the building once edited. I think these photos convey mystery because this building is not super well known and it looks very historic.
Bell Tower
I took my last photos of the bell tower because I noticed the building as soon as I drove in the center of downtown. I took the first image from afar and the second image from a closer, facing up angle. The building is very tall so I had to experiment with many angles in order to get ones that look different. I think these photos convey rush due to seeing a clock and knowing that it goes off every hour or so.
